Cream puffs

Yesterday I made cream puffs. And they worked! Thanks to Simone Beck, Louisette Berthole, Julia Child and Mastering The Art Of French Cooking they actually worked. And tasted GOOD!!! I have several before pictures that my mom took.

But I don't have many afters... They were almost all gone before I got the chance to take any. Luckily I was able to save a few for Daddy... and for pictures =).

I know the custerd filling looks yellow but that is just the lighting. It was actually a delicious cream color.

New hobbie

I have discovered a new hobbie! Google Image searching for cute pictures. Today I searched "rain boots with puddles" and came up with these.

I have desided that I need a pair of polka dotted rain boots.

Preferably red.

These would work.

I am a proud window shopper

A few months ago a friend introduced me to ModCloth. I have never bought anything from them and I probably never will - they rather expencive - but they have some of the cutest dresses, well, ever.

For example...

And this is just some of what I like on pages 1-7. There are 37 pages. Just of dresse. Here's  the link if you want to check it out. Happy shopping - or window shopping. Personaly I rather perfer window shopping. There is no limit to anything. You try every thing on - regardless of the fact that you (or I) would never dream of wearing it out of the dressing room and then you put it back with out a qualm =). And you leave the store with exactly what you were looking for - nothing. So I am a proud window shopper.

Sunday morning.

"A man learns nothing from winning. The act of losing however can elicit great wisdom. Not least of which is how much more enjoyable it is to win. It is enevitable to lose now and again. The trick is not to make a habit of it."
Uncle Henry - A Good Year

I love the rain. For some reason it means peace for me. It means curling up on the couch and watching "The Wind In The Willows" For perhaps the same unknown reason the movie "A Good Year" gives me the same peace. So with my quote I am giving you pictures of rain. Saddly I did not take these. I use my mom's camera and she refuses to let me take it out in the rain. So although I love pictures of rain I have rarely been able to take any. Oh well.

Maybe one of the reaons I love the rain is that I love umbrellas. And rain means umbrellas.

Maybe another reason I love rain is that I love ripples. And rain means ripples.

Maybe another reason is I love dancing in the rain.
It seems that I am not the only one.

What is it with dancing in the rain? Is it that there is some part of us that longs for rebelion and some how, for some reason dancing, out side in plane view of any one, in the rain, satisfies that? Or is it just that God made us to dance in the rain some times.

To find these pictures I went to Google Images and typed "dancing in the rain" This last picture is on a blog. Above it it says

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain."

I think that my question is answered.

Just FYI, no it is not raining here. And I havn't watched "A Good Year" in quite a while. Yes this is completly random. But you know the nice thing about random posts is that, that is what I am thinking about and if you don't care than don't read this post =).

The Best Birthday Party Ever!!!

Last night my best friend and I went to the Sacramento Ballet's Romeo and Juliet. It was magical. Stephon Calka and Amanda Peet were increadable as the leads, and every one else was increadble too. My friend and I desided that we felt sorry for Paris. He hadn't done anything to earn Juliets enmity (isn't that a great word?!) His only problem was that he wasn't Romeo. So really he can't help it. Pluss his costume was more manly. Although when you go to a ballet you can't really expect the men to be dressed in, say, wranglers and chaps!

Grey Sky Eyes

Grey sky, always in your eye
Where is the girl behind the cloud?
Grey sky, always floating by
But I only peek when I'm allowed

You welcome me in
And your veil is so thin
But the mystery continues to grow
You say you must realize
That my grey sky eyes
Neither rain, nor they glow... now you know

So I'll try to not act so suprised
I'll feel my way, I'll underplay
All my curiosity and hide
All the questions in my skin

You welcome me in
And your veil is so thin
But the mystery continues to grow
You say you must realize
That my grey sky eyes
Neither rain, nor they glow... now you know
They neither rain nor they glow... now you know

Grey Sky, I think I changed my mind
I find no need to pretend
Grey Sky, would you allow me to be
So into you, my friend?

Could you welcome me in
With your veil that's so thin
As the the mystery continues to grow?
You say you must realize
That my grey sky eyes
Neither rain, nor they glow... now you know
They neither rain nor they glow... now you know
They neither rain nor they glow... now you know

Groundhog Day

I think that this is going to be one of those Groundhog Days that go down in Wheeler history. Today we are holding a memorial service for my Grandmother. She died last Saturday at 7:05 at the age of 84, after living a long full life. She was a loving mother and a wonderful woman. She had a awesome sense of humor as well as being a incredible cook, a fascinating conversationalist, a talented seamstress and one of the best most consistent ironers I  have ever met. We all know that if one of the boys shirts is wrinkled this after-noon than Mom will tear it off their back and iron it. You just don't go to a memorial service for Jean Helen Colllopy Gault in a wrinkled shirt!
